days checked off 37 more to go!

Well Joey has officially been gone now for 3 days, which means he is 3 days closer to coming back home to Biff and I. It has been quite the adjustment getting used to him being gone-I never will get used to it totally! The days are not as hard-but the nights are terrible! Our apartment seems so quiet and empty without him there, definitely is not the same!

But overall he is adjusting well to camp at Fort Lewis, WA. Today was his first full day of doing stuff, boring but at least he is doing something! Yesterday he was able to meet up with Johnson, a good friend that he was in Iraq with. So that was really great for him. Hopefully he will be able to meet up with him more. He is able to go to the gym there so that is good for him, will help keep him busy and occupy his time and mind! We are able to talk lots as of right now so hopefully that will keep on happening. This will definitely help the time go by faster if we can be in contact with each other.

As for me I have been occupying my time with my parents, helping them put in a sprinkler system. I have also gone to visit my good friend Raina and her husband Andy in the hospital! They had their first child, a baby boy named Elijah. I haven't met him yet due to some medical issues, but have seen lots of pictures and he is so cute. Can't wait to meet him. Tonight I also went to my cousin Lindsay's 11th Birthday party--she is getting so big!

But the new big thing that has really been occupying my time is that I found an ad in the newspaper for yellow lab puppies. Joey and I really want to get a lab, so I feel like this is the perfect opportunity for us. They are a great price and I am home pretty much this summer to spend with him and train him. So I have been really busy trying to find out info on if we would be able to take him to Korea with us. So far so good, the only other obstacle is I am waiting to here from our apartment manager to see if we can have a dog stay with us for the short time we have left in our apartment. Don't feel great about it but we will see! As of now I am going with my sister Katy and possibly my mom to go and meet all the little puppies tomorrow morning! Joey and I are really excited so hopefully this will all work out for us!! Stay tuned on this possible new addition to our family!

Our Future Plans

This past May, Joey got COMMISSIONED as an Officer of the Army and GRADUATED from UW-Oshkosh! This was such an exciting day for him and for us! We can finally end that chapter and start a new and exciting one!
Joey received his orders the week that he graduated, which left us with mixed emotions. He would be leaving June 25th for 40 days to head to the state of Washington to work at a camp for Officers in training. Then on August 3rd he is to report to Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio TX! This move we are super excited for! So while he is gone I have a busy month of packing and figuring out how we are going to do this big exciting move! Then December 28th Joey is to report to Korea unaccompanied for a year! This I took especially hard! But we did find out that if he stays an extra year he can have an accompanied tour, WHICH MEANS I CAN GO WITH HIM!!! So we will see what happens! Our life these next couple of months/years should definitely be interesting!! Stay tuned!!

Our Start

Joey and I met about 11 years ago on a church mission trip and we have been friends ever since! We started actually dating about 2.5 years ago! Being Joey's friend has always been great, but being his girlfriend, fiance, and now wife is absolutely amazing! He brings out the best in me and I can honestly say he completes me! Thanks buddy for everything you do and for making me so happy! I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him!
