Blessed

What a rough week for this country!
With the horrible bombing at the Boston Marathon and the huge explosion in Texas!
Too many innocent people died or were injured!

The explosion in Texas is a little over an hour away from us!
The explosion was felt over 50 miles away!
Too close for comfort!
So sad for that small town!

Prayers for everyone affected in both tragedies this week!

But as sad as this week has been for so many of us, I think it also makes us all stop and look at our own lives.  I know it did for me.  You never know when someone or something can be taken from you!  Your life can be perfect one second and the next it can blow up right in your face!  I think times like this as terrible as they are, make us stop and appreciate everything we have!  I am so grateful for so many things and sometimes in our everyday life we tend to forget and take those things for granted!

Today I am so blessed for so many things!!

I have:
* a wonderful husband who loves me and takes such great care of us
*this wonderful, beautiful, amazing, smart, healthy, and sassy daughter that I love more than anything in this world!
*such a wonderful family, who I know supports us and would do anything for us
 *some really great friends
*2 awesome dogs that love me no matter what and are simply the best
*a house that keeps us safe, cool, warm, dry, and very comfortable
*a house full of food and comfort
*love
*health

And the list could just go on!  On weeks like this we all need to stop and really take a look at our lives and be appreciative of everything we have because it literally could be taken from us at any second!

On December 23, 2012 a little angel was born!

Sophia Leigh

She is a daughter, grand-daughter, niece, cousin, God-daughter, and already a friend! And as her life continues she will become so much more!
And little Miss Sophia, your Auntie Melissa will always be one of your biggest fans!

I love you so much and I am so glad that I not only get to be your aunt but also your God-mother!  You will never truly know just how honored I am!

So on February 26th, 2013 you got baptized and I was so happy that I was able to come home and be there to celebrate that special day with you!

You looked so beautiful that you brought tears to my eyes!

I love this picture for two reasons!  One I love how proud your daddy looks and that you are just gazing up at him!  And second you can see just how proud I am in this picture!!

Uncle Chris and Auntie Melissa (The God-Parents)

Sophia, you did such a good job on this day!  You were passed from person to person, your cloths were changed a million different times, you had so many pictures taken of you, you barely napped, and through it all you were a trooper!

You even put up with you crazy cousin getting in your face!

Here are some of my other favorite pictures of that very special day!!

Great Auntie Trudy with her 2 girls!!  They love her so much already!

Sophia was so much better than Izzy with all the pictures being taken!  At this point Izzy was so done! And so was Poppy!

Love this picture of Great-Grandma with her youngest Great-Grandchild!!

Loved that at the end of the day this is what you ended up in!  And all you wanted was that yummy thumb!  You just sucked away on that fist trying so hard to get your thumb!

Cousins-Can't wait to see them grow up together!

I love you Phia!!

Catch Up

Where did these past 2 months go?  Seriously, I cannot believe we are in April already!

The past 2 months flew by!  We were incredibly busy and on top of that our computer stopped working.  So we finally decided to buy a new one and now I am trying to figure out how to use it!  It is so different from our other one and it frustrates me!  But I think I am finally starting to understand it a little bit more!  And I am so excited because I finally was able to download all of our pictures and look at them!

February started off slow but the second half just flew by!  It all started with celebrating Molly's birthday!  Instead of celebrating Valentines Day we celebrated Molly!  We decided since Izzy is really starting to get into the whole birthday thing to throw Molly a little birthday party!

So when Joey was done with work, the three of us went to the store and got some birthday supplies!  We got balloons, hats, a birthday sign, and cupcakes!  We also went to the pet store and got some more presents for Molly and got both pups these special cupcake treats!  Izzy was so excited!
When we got home we decorated and started our small little party!

Izzy wouldn't keep her hat on long enough for me to get a picture which is why we don't have a picture with her wearing one!  The dogs did a better job than her!

And a birthday party isn't complete unless you sing happy birthday and have candles to blow out!

And of course Izzy had to have her own cupcake!

Izzy loves cupcakes! After that day if you said cupcakes, she would automatically respond Happy Birthday Molly!

Cupcakes now symbolize it is someone's birthday to Izzy!!

It was such a fun night!  I am so glad we decided to do this rather than celebrate Valentine's Day.  Some may think we are crazy for celebrating our dogs birthday's like this, but they are our family!  These dogs have done more for us than they will ever know and we should celebrate them!  So I am glad we did and I think we started a new tradition in the Ross household!

Here is a video of Izzy saying Happy Birthday to Molly!  So precious!
